Crickets vs. Lenoir City

The Cricket Captains were #26 Dylan “Pickle” Russell, #44 Colton Brown, #59 Josh “The Bull” Silvey (of the Silvey Mafia), and #88 Jacob Crabtree. Loudon (5-1) won the coin toss and wanted the ball.

The Loudon Crickets started first and 10 on the 35 yard line. A good drive culminated in a touchdown when #88 Jacob Crabtree drew first blood as he vaulted into the end zone from the two yard line. The very important conversion points were added by #32 Dylan “Cucumber” Russell.

Not to be out done, Lenoir City answered with a 55 yard TD scamper by #5 J.J. Flachbart. The Loudon defense bowed their backs and denied the tie. Leaving the score 8-6, Loudon at the end of the first quarter.

After a nice drive that spanned the first and second periods, #26 Dylan “Pickle” Russell got the nod and put the Loudon Crickets ahead to stay 16-6 at half time. Russell scored with 6:02 left in the second stanza and added the extra points himself.

The third period was a stalemate, as neither team could gain an advantage. However the fourth and final quarter provided plenty of excitement with three touchdowns scored. Loudon scored on runs of seven and five yards by none other than “Pickle” Russell! The Panther score was again by #5 J.J. Flachbart, who streaked down the sideline for another long score, this time from 65 yards out.

“Pickle” Russell had an excellent game rushing 15 times for 89 yards and three touchdowns plus one 2-point conversion. Battery mate Crabtree earned 129 yards on 13 carries for one touchdown. Total offense was 282 yards on 37 carries.

Outstanding defenders were #26 “Pickle” Russell with seven tackles and two sacks, #23 Isaiah Lowe posted five knock downs and two sacks, #73 Richie “The Hulk” Trout added four stops, and #32 Dylan “Cucumber” Russell recovered a fumble and recorded two tackles and a sack. The final score was 28-12, Loudon Crickets (6-1).
