The Cricket Captains were #16 Will Jenkins, #50 Noah “The Hammer” Hughes, #61 Cody Townson, and #73 Richie “The Hulk” Trout. The Wildcats won the coin toss and wanted the ball.
The Polk Co. Wildcats are a very good team; they showed it on the first play from scrimmage! The ’Cat running back took the handoff and raced 65 yards untouched for the touchdown!
Then your Loudon Crickets embarked on a seven play drive that resulted in a one yard plunge by #44 Colton Brown. The 2-point conversion was added by #88 Jacob Crabtree. There’s 3:22 left in the first quarter.
The Cricket defense forced a turnover, #50 Noah “The Hammer” Hughes recovered the fumble (Hughes would recover two fumbles in the first half). On the next offensive play, Loudon returned the favor fumbling the football back to the Wildcats. However the Cricket “D” held and forced a Polk Co. punt.
In the second period, #26 Dylan “Pickle” Russell got the nod to finish a 10 play drive with a blast up the middle from the one. The scoreboard shows 14-6 at half time.
To open the second half, Loudon had the ball first. 2:05 and six plays later led to a 20 yard touchdown scamper by #26 Dylan “Pickle” Russell. #88 Jacob Crabtree earned the 2-point conversion.
Loudon goes on another long drive that covers eight plays and burns up a lot of time, while the Big Red defense kept the Wildcats at bay. This allowed the underclassman to get some playing time. The last score was by #34 Marcus Howard who took off down the sideline on an 87 yard touchdown gold rush! #6 Layne Parks converted from the three yard line.
#26 Dylan “Pickle” Russell was the offensive bright spot rushing for 200 yards on 22 carries, the outstanding defenders were #44 Colton Brown, #22 Jesse Smallen, #88 Jacob Crabtree, with four tackles each.
Total offense was 343 yards on 36 rushes. The Crickets (7-1) earn a big victory 30-6.

Before the varsity Crickets game, the Loudon Super Crickets were victorious 12-0 over the Polk Co. Super Crickets. #34 Marcus Howard rushes for about 150 yards including a 60 yarder for a touchdown. #31 Ryan Barr scores on a 40 yard pass reception from QB #6 Layne Parks. Adding to the totals was #41 Nate Rohen with about 45 yards rushing.
