Before the game started, representing “The Red” were Captains #6 Layne Parks, #8 Ben Johnson, #22 Jesse Smallen, and #23 Isaiah Lowe. Loudon won the coin toss and wanted the ball.

The Cricket offense went right to work. A six play drive started on the 35 yard line and ended with a 33 yard touchdown scamper by none other than #88 Jacob Crabtree! #26 Dylan “Pickle” Russell added the conversion points. 3:06 had ticked off the first quarter clock.

The Big Red defense took care of business and recovered a Sweetwater fumble. Covering that loose pigskin was #52 Triston Ridings!

On the move, the Cricket “O” converted that turnover into seven points. #23 Isaiah Lowe vaulted into the end zone from the 29 yard line, and with Crabtree’s conversion the scoreboard reads 16-0, Loudon. Two touchdowns in 41 seconds – not too shabby!

The second quarter was a defensive stalemate, so the half time score stood at 16-0.

Sweetwater out scored Loudon six to zip in the third period to pull closer at 16-6.

But in the final stanza, #26 Dylan “Pickle” Russell pounded across from the one yard line. Breaking into the scoring column was #22 Jesse Smallen, with a three yard run that rang up the two conversion points.

Still fighting, the Wildcats were not through with our end zone yet and scored their second touchdown of the second half. #25 Jordan Ervin scored both Wildcat touchdowns on runs of 58 and 65 yards.

Powered by big offensive performances from #26 Dylan “Pickle” Russell and #88 Jacob Crabtree, the Crickets improved to 5-1 on the season. “Pickle” churned out 94 yards on nine rushes, while Crabtree tallied 16 carries for 115 yards. Key defenders were #44 Colton Brown, Crabtree, and Smallen who each added five tackles.
