Representing the Big Red Hoppers for the coin toss were Captains #21 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson and #39 Travis Brewer. Loudon won the coin toss and wanted the football.
On the first play from scrimmage, the Cherokee defense threw #21 Jackson for a -10 yard loss? This set the tone for the entire day! Unfortunately, your Loudon Hoppers offense never got untracked; as they were held to 83 yards of total offense. Most of the plays were run right up the middle; into the strength of the Cherokees defense (#75 a tackle was the best defensive G’back player). The only success came when the Hoppers ran wide on sweeps, away from that impenetrable defensive front.
In a losing effort, the Hoppers rushed 19 times for 83 yards and one touchdown. The final score was 8-6 in favor of the visiting Greenback Hoppers.
