2005 Hoppers vs. Riceville

Representing the Big Red Hoppers for the coin toss were Captains #57 Parker Ammons and #72 Wes Hutton. Loudon won the coin toss and wanted the football.

In the best game of the day, two fairly matched well coached teams battled it out. Riceville was up 6-0 at the end of the first quarter. #34 Jordan Davis got things going and tied up the game at 6-6 by half time.

The Wildcats pulled ahead again in the third period, and most importantly converted the extra points.

Your Hoppers came roaring back with a six yard touchdown to pull within two points on a #35 Jack “the Ironman” Nichols II strike. Nichols conversion attempt was turned back by the ‘Cat defense, he was stopped one yard short of pay dirt.

Outstanding defenders were #54 Caleb Green with seven tackles, #24 Brandon “Newt” Burnette and #21 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson posted six stops each, and #47 Macklyn “The Mac Attack” Russell had five knock downs.

Rushing accounted for 158 yards on 29 attempts for two touchdowns.

In a heart breaker, the Hoppers (3-2) fall 14-12.
