Before the start of the game, Captains #27 Chad Russell and #87 Jacob “Unit 1” Mashburn represented the Big Red Hoppers. Loudon won the coin toss and wanted the ball.

The first quarter passed scoreless, however the Wildcats scored first in the second period. Loudon matched their score when #21 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson assaulted the end zone from 31 yards out. The conversion attempt failed, leaving the score 8-6 ‘Cats. Sweetwater would score again to lead 16-6 at the intermission.

The third period was scoreless as both teams stepped up their defensive intensity. Loudon was on the move but fumbled the ball to Sweetwater. The Wildcats returned the favor as #54 Caleb Green pounced on the loose ball at the ‘Cat 45 yard line. This was a two possession game as the Hoppers needed to score twice. There was just over 5:00 minutes left in the game. Loudon earned a first down on #35 Jack “The Ironman” Nichols II third down carry of seven yards. Nichols gained two more yards, but #72 Wes Hutton was tackled behind the line of scrimmage for a four yard loss. On third down Hutton goes for six yards, it’s now fourth down and six. Taking the handoff Hutton surges ahead for five yards, just short of the first down marker. Sweetwater takes over on downs and runs out the clock; the final score was 16-6 Wildcats.

Defense standouts were #24 Brandon “Newt” Brunette knocking down eight ball carriers and #21 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson also posted eight tackles.

The Loudon Hoppers (3-3) rushed for 92 yards on 25 carries and one touchdown.
