Captains were #9 Matthew Wallace, #67 Cory Lawson, and #82 Aaron Anderson. Loudon won the coin toss and wanted the foot ball. With the Wallace kick-off return of five yards, the Big Red Indians set up shop on the 36 yard line. The no huddle offense went right to work. #16 Nick Roach for one yard, #23 Jake Brown goes for seven yards, and now it’s third and two. Wallace is pounding the rock trying to get the first down when disaster strikes; the pig skin squirts loose and is recovered by Etowah. Well Wallace atones for the mulligan and intercepts an errant Knight Quarterback pass and is off to the races - a 55 yard return! First and 10 Indians on the 15 yard line. Jake Brown for one yard and then Air Franklin is picked off in the end zone. On the next series, #82 Aaron Anderson nailed the ball carrier, out popped the ball, pouncing on the fumble was #98 Jeffery Nichols. Loudon was turned back on downs; Roach came up with another Etowah loose ball. Again Loudon was turned back on downs, on the 45 yard line. The Knights had 4:22 left before half time. On the move, Etowah scores on a touchdown pass with 13.1 seconds to spare. In a hard fought first half, the ‘Skins are down 6 at intermission.

The third quarter passed scoreless. However, the fourth period provided lots of fire works. Etowah scores on a 43 yard pass, the clock reads 7:45. Loudon went to the air, after a couple of incomplete passes, Air Franklin was picked. The Big Red defense forced a punt… it’s blocked by Wallace and recovered by #66 Chad Purdy! Loudon took over deep in Etowah territory on the 22 yard line. Jake Brown pounded out 16 yards on two carries, Wallace vaulted to pay dirt from seven yards out. Now it’s a ball game, 12-6 Knights. The on-sides kick was recovered by #81 Samuel Curtis - how large was that! The clock shows 3:12, first and 10 on the 46 yard line. With a score and a 2-point conversion we win this thing. But alas it didn’t happen that way. Air Franklin threw incomplete on first down. On second down Franklin threw an interception that was returned 70 yards for an Etowah touchdown. That would do it.

The defense forced two interceptions, recovered two fumbles, blocked a punt, blocked an extra point, and recovered an on-sides kick-off.

Total offense was 29 yards. Rushing accounted for 27 yards on 22 attempts, passing lost -3 yards, and special teams contributed 5 yards on a kick-off return. In a tough physical game the Indians fall from the unbeaten ranks 6-20. Go Indians!
