Out for the coin toss were Captains #9 Matthew Wallace, #27 Kadrean Brewster, and #34 David Lee Haskins. Your Loudon Indians won the coin toss and wanted the football. #81 Samuel Curtis returned the opening kick-off 15 yards. On the first play from scrimmage, #34 David Lee Haskins (first game back from broken arm) was stuffed for a two yard loss. From there the Indians went on to draw first blood on Haskins’ one yard plunge. The clock showed 5:00 left in the first quarter. The Sweetwater deep back, #44 Contreal Foster, hauled in the ensuing kick-off and took it 60 yards to the house! After re-grouping, the Indians reeled off 24 unanswered points to put the game out of reach. #9 Matthew Wallace scored from the one, Curtis caught a 55 yard touchdown pass from Haskins (half back pass), and #27 Kadrean Brewster ripped off a 47 yard scoring strike against his former teammates. Conversion points were posted by Wallace, Haskins, and #37 Nick Brown. In victory formation, Franklin takes a knee with 23 seconds left in the game. The Indians (5-1) won the game with defense, holding the ‘Cats to three first downs. Linebacker #16 Nick Roach was the top defender with nine tackles, Wallace added five stops. Total offense was 437 yards. Rushing accounted for 309 yards on 49 carries, passing added 113 yards on four receptions, special teams included 15 yards on kick-off returns. Go Indians!
