Out for the coin toss were Mustang Captains #11 Billy Hutton, #18 Zack Sellars, #30 Trey Townson, #48 Caleb Russell, and #57 Jefferson McQueen. The Mustangs won the coin toss and deferred until the second half. The first three quarters belonged to Lenoir City. #5 Cody Wright scored on a two yard plunge, #10 Bryan McFalls caught a 12 yard touchdown pass, and #7 Jake Dutton scored from 34 yards out. With just over three minutes left in the fourth period, the Panthers had driven down to the Redskin seven yard line. In an excellent display of sportsmanship, on fourth down the Lenoir City QB took a knee, turning the ball over to your Loudon Mustangs. This allowed the underclassmen from both squads to get playing time. Three plays later #36 Jake Mourfield was off to the races streaking down the sideline for a 65 yard touchdown! The outstanding defenders were #98 Andrew Millsaps with six tackles and an interception, #30 Trey Townson logged five stops and a fumble recovery, and #21 Trae Horton added four tackles. Offensively #36 Jake Mourfield was the Mustang bright spot, rushing for 84 yards on three carries and one touchdown. Total offense was 138 yards on 20 attempts, way below the Mustang season average. The Mustangs (4-3) fall to a talented Panther team 22-6.
