Out for the coin toss were Mustang Captains #2 Austin Miles, #21 Trae Horton, #32 Chris Chenault, #56 Hunter Giles, and #81 Josh “The Wall” Taylor . The Mustangs won the coin toss and deferred until the second half.

#92 Tyler Walters kicked off for the Red Team. Polk Co. started on their own 41 yard line. The first quarter came and went scoreless as neither team could gain an advantage. The Mustangs put together a 12 play drive but stalled out on downs on the Wildcat 16 yard line. Polk Co. drew first blood with 38 seconds left in the second period and went into the locker room ahead 6-0.

The Loudon Mustangs put the ball in play on the 25 yard line after a two yard K-O return by #2 Austin Miles. A few short plays later, Polk Co. recovered a Mustang fumble. The Wildcats turned that turnover into six points, to lead 12-0 at the end of the third period.

After a 27 yard K-O return by #36 Jake Mourfield, the Reds set up shop on their own 43 yard line. Coach Bradshaw called a good mix of passing and running plays. In an eight play drive, three plays were passes. QB Franklin completed a pass to #27 Taylor “Skillet” Watson, but he was tackled for no gain. After earning a first down the Mustangs soon found themselves in down and distance trouble. And after an incomplete half-back pass by #30 Trey Townson, the Wildcats took over on downs. Field position, offensive execution, and offensive production plagued the Mustangs all day.

Offensively #18 Zack Sellars was the bright spot rushing 13 times for 61 yds; the outstanding defenders were Townson with eight tackles, Horton with seven stops, and #98 Andrew Millsaps added five knock downs.

Total offense was 191 yards, way below the Mustang (4-4) season average. Rushing accounted for 149 yards on 26 attempts, passing added 7 yards on two completions, and K-O returns contributed 35 yards.
