Out for the coin toss were Mustang Captains #34 Ryan McNabb, #59 Daron “Big D” Stachowicz, #76 James Mendez, #78 Dillon Hawk. The Mustangs won the coin toss and deferred until the second half.

The first quarter came and went scoreless. The Wildcats drew first blood with 1:36 left in the second period on a 60 yard touchdown run.

That score would hold up until half time.

Riceville was at it again, with another 60 yard rushing touchdown. The clock showed 5:11 left in the third stanza.

Offensively #30 Trey “The Train” Townson was the bright spot rushing for 68 yards on 18 carries, the outstanding defenders were #21 Trey Horton with seven tackles and #34 Ryan McNabb logged five stops.

Total offense was 143 yards, way below the Mustang season average. Rushing accounted for 79 yards on 34 attempts and passing added 64 yards on five completions.

The Mustangs (4-1) fall from the un-defeated ranks and were shut out by the Wildcats. The senior players on this Mustang team had their 30 game winning streak snapped. Their last loss occurred on November 2, 2002; a 6-0 defeat at Tellico when they were on the Hoppers team.
