The Chargers were a more physical team and better conditioned than were the Meigs Co. Tigers. In last seasons “Blackburn Jamboree” your Redskins squeaked out a three to zip victory over McMinn Central on the last play of the contest. This year’s Charger’s squad feels they are much improved and poised for a good season… the Big Red had something to say about that. By the end of this scrimmage, the Charger coaching staff and players were fighting mad; they had been pounded on both sides of the ball by the ‘Skins. And to add insult to injury, #24 Josh Hawkins took a live action kick-off to the house from 75 yards out.
