Game 1 against LCYFO
Text by Jefferson McQueen and Photography by Jammie Graves
Week 1 of the
Sequoyah Conference football season finds your Loudon Quarterback Club hosting
our inter-county rivals, the Lenoir City Panthers! With parking at a premium,
since losing the field at the north end zone due to Tennessee trash, Redskins
Head Coach Jeff Harig graciously allowed us to play at “Chig” Ratledge Stadium,
Dukes Field, Home of the Loudon Redskins. With the parking situation temporarily
solved, let’s now turn out attention to football…
CRICKETS
The
Crickets were 11-1 last season and are the reining Conference Champions.
However, the Chirpers will be a real young team this season; there are only
three of four players who were on the team last year. That means two things:
1.
The Hoppers are loaded with talent and
2. Just about
everyone on the team has never played football before!
It will
take some time, but these youngsters will soon get the hang of this sport we all
love - FOOTBALL!!!
The
Cricket Captain was #41 Sean Bass, Loudon won the toss and deferred until the
second half.
Your Crickets (0-1)
rushed 15 times for 14 yards.
The final
score, in three quarters, was 32-0, the Lenoir City Panthers.
