Battle of the Unbeatens II: Hoppers 20 - Lenoir City 0
In the battle of the unbeaten, the Lenoir City Hoppers (8-0) took on the Loudon Hoppers (8-0). In the end it turned out to be anticlimactical, as the outcome of the game was never in question. This is the second time this season that the Loudon Hoppers have put their undefeated status on the line against an undefeated foe. In week #5, undefeated Riceville fell 18-0 to the "Hopper Machine".
In the first stanza, Loudon drove down and scored on a nine yard blast by #36 Trey Townsend. The Panther "D" denied the conversion attempt. At the half, the Loudon Hoppers are leading six to nothing. #36 Townsend, was at it again, powering over for a two yard touchdown in the third period. The "Big Red" defense frustrated the Panthers all day. Midway through the fourth quarter, L.C. was back to pass, #21 Zach Sellers put the final nail in the coffin with a interception returned for a 25 yard touchdown. #83 Taylor "The Brewster" Watson tacked on the 2-pt. conversion. The L.C. Hoppers held Loudon to their lowest offensive production of the season. The Hoppers had 141 yards rushing on 33 carries and one pass completion for 15 yards. Total offense was 156 yards.
