Would the 'Cats be able to derail the Hopper express? The Polk Co.Wildcats have gotten closer than anyone we've faced so far. Our own Loudon Hoppers got the ball first and promptly marched down the field and scored. #39 Caleb Russell got the nod and smashed in from the one yard line. The 2-pt. conversion was turned back by a good surge from the Wildcat front line. We should have shaken hands and called it a game, as the score by Russell would be the only points of the contest. The Hopper defense kept the 'Cats at bay and out of the endzone all day. "It was ugly, but we'll take it", quipped Head Coach Matlock. The Hoppers had 186 yards of total offense on 32 carries. By the skin of their teeth, the Hoppers (8-0) escape with a "W". Six to nothing, was the final scope.
