The Crickets are hitting on all eight cylinders! I hope everyone doesn’t get tired of hearing, seeing, and reading about “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson. He scored every time that he touched the ball, three touchdowns and one 2-pt. conversion. Go Joshua, Go! Of course one player does not make a team; the Crickets have a stable of very capable running backs. #8 Jack “The Iron Man” Nichols II posted a long touchdown run of 61yards, and #6 Macklin “The Mac Attack” Russell added a touchdown scamper of 62 yards. The defense was led by #61 Jesse Smallen with six takedowns, #26 Jacob Crabtree and #34 Isaiah Lowe added five tackles each, and #55 TJ Gooden had three tackles and a fumble recovery. The Crickets rushed for 323 yards on 21 attempts for five touchdowns and two 2-pt. conversions.
We will travel next Saturday (9-18-2004) to match up against Riceville Wildcats (9-7), the first game is at 3:00 pm.
