Scoring Summary
  1st 2nd 3rd 4th Final
Crickets 8 0 0 8 16
Greenback 6 0 0 0 6
The #2 seed Loudon Crickets (9-2) played the #3 seed Greenback Cherokees (9-2) at 4:00pm in Etowah. Loudon started on offense, #24 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson worked his magic, going in from the 27 yard line. #8 Jack “The Ironman” Nichols II bullied over for the 2-point conversion.

The ‘Kee’s answered with their own score, from the 23 yard line. However, #46 Jake “Unit 1” Mashburn thwarted the conversion attempt, and that’s as close as the game would get.

Just before time expired, #24 Jackson had a 55 yard touchdown run taken off the scoreboard by an illegal motion penalty. That keeps the score at intermission 8-6, in favor of your Loudon Crickets.

The second half was marred by penalty after penalty. Loudon received six flags for illegal motion or illegal procedure. When things settled back down, Head Coach Scott Newman dialed in his power set. #8 Jack “The Ironman” Nichols II pounded the ball up the middle. Six straight rushes yielded an 11 yard touchdown for the “Ironman”. #47 Zack “Unit 2” Mashburn bolted across for the extra points. This accomplished two things… It ate up the clock and wore down the Greenback team.

The defense was led by #46 Jake “Unit 1” Mashburn with ten takedowns, #24 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson added nine bruisers, #6 Macklin “The Mac Attack” Russell posted seven stops, and #95 Colton Brown added six knockdowns. The Crickets rushed for 205 yards on 25 attempts for two touchdowns and two 2-point conversions. The Back MVP was #24 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson, while the Lineman MVP went to #95 Colton Brown.

The Loudon Crickets (10-2) earn a shot at the title, and will play the Sweetwater Wildcats (12-0) at Vonore this Saturday at 4:00pm. In week #6 of the regular season the Crickets lost to the ‘Cats 12-20. Head Coach Scott Newman already has a game plan in place to contain #44 Terrell Johnson.

The final score of this playoff game was 16-6, your Loudon Crickets.
