The Crickets started out a little flat… Riceville had something to do with that, as #11 Corbin Powers powered ahead for a 65 yard
touchdown, on the first play from scrimmage. This development had all the makings of a long day. However, the Cricket defense regained their composer, and promptly stuffed the conversion attempt. Loudon put together a nice little drive of their own. #24 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson added runs of 29 and 10 yards. The W’cat defense started keying on Jackson. So Head Coach Scott Newman called a counter play to #6 Macklin “The Mac Attack” Russell, it was good for a 29 yard touchdown, that tied up the game. Russell also added to the score board in the second period, posting a one yard plunge. R’ville was driving, just before half time. They were knocking on the door, at the two yard line. Up stepped #34 Isaiah Lowe, #95 Colton Brown, and #27 Jack “The Iron Man” Nichols II to shut down the goal line as time expired in the first half.
#24 “Double J” Joshua “Action” Jackson took off on the second play of the third quarter, a 71 yard zinger. Wanting in on the action, #27 Jack “The Iron Man” Nichols II posted a 19 yard touchdown mid-way through the fourth stanza, to finish the Loudon scoring. Riceville wasn’t finished yet, as #41 Raheem Ellison streaked past everyone in route to a 65 yard TD strike. The defense was led by #24 Joshua Jackson with nine knock-downs, #34 Isaiah Lowe and #27 Jake Nichols added five tackles each. The Crickets had 29 rushes for 251 yards, four touchdowns, and one 2-pt. conversions.
