Week 2, and the Loudon Quarterback Club teams caravanned to McMinn Co. High School, where the Athens Jr. Cherokees hosted the games. The sun was scorching hot, but the Loudon Quarterback Club teams were HOTTER! We took four (4) more Big Ones, running our total to eight (8) wins vs. zero losses. We travel to Greenback (Greenback’s record is 7-1) next Saturday (9-4-2004), first game at 3:00 pm.
The Hoppers started on defense. Athens ran three plays for -4 yards and punted. The offense promptly marched down the field putting up a 17 yard touchdown. #20 Brandon Tallent vaulted into the end zone for the score. That’s how the rest of the game would go, solid defense and ball control offense. The Hoppers had 30 rushes for 218 yards, two touchdowns, and one 2-pt. conversions, however they lost two fumbles.
