The Loudon Hoppers scored three touchdowns in the first half. #36 Jake Mourfield drew first blood on a 63 yard touchdown streak. Adding to the total was #20 Brandon “Speed Demon” Tallent; he posted scores of 70 and 25 yards.
In the third stanza Mourfield was at it again, this time he scored from 65 yards out! #83 Tyler Walters had the hoppers in field goal formation for the extra point attempt. Snap, hold, and kick… it’s good! This was Walters second successful extra point kick this season (the kick scored 2 points by conference rules). On the last play of the game, QB Justin Franklin hit #39 Ryan McNabb for an 11 yard pass completion. Top defenders were #68 Cody “The Maniac” Manis and #20 Brandon “Speed Demon” Tallent with six stops each. #14 Cody Morris also added four knockdowns. 21 rushes for 352 yards, four touchdowns, and two 2-point conversions powered the Hopper victory.
The Loudon Hoppers have already secured a playoff berth.
In a showdown for the second seed, the Loudon Hoppers (8-1) will be facing the Madisonville Tornados (8-1), this Saturday. Everyone come out and support your Hoppers.
