On the third offensive play of the game, the Hoppers broke the Blue Devils’ sprits. #36 Jake “The Snake” Mourfield bolted free on a 42 yard touchdown blast. Brandon Tallent #20 followed suit and put up a 58 yarder. In the second quarter, Tallent added a 15 yard score. Wanting in on the act was #39 Ryano McNabb, he posted a nine yard dinger. A lot of younger players logged playing time on defense, Vonore managed to score six points. At the half, the score is 24 to six, Loudon Hoppers.
In the third stanza, #20 Brandon Tallent scored his third touchdown, a 48 yarder. After five scores on the ground, the Hoppers took to the air. Quarterback #3 Justin Franklin aired it out to #39 Ryano McNabb for a nine yard pitch and catch. Now through all these touchdowns, #83 Tyler Walters attempted place kicks for the extra points, they were all short. Tyler practices kicking every day, before and after practice; that diligence would soon pay off. After McNabbs TD catch, #83 Tyler Walters was in kick formation. Snap, hold, and kick… it’s good! The football split the up rights for what is believed to be the first extra points kick by any Hopper in the league (the kick scored 2 points by conference rules). Congratulations Tyler! The Hoppers had 14 rushes for 338 yards and five touchdowns, three receptions for 40 yards and one touchdown, and one extra point kick that scored two points.
