The Indians ran the table last season, but lost the Championship Game; and Head Coach Archie Cosner retired from the hill. David Matlock was looking for a new challenge after four straight Hopper Crowns, he took over a team full of graduating Championship Mustangs, returning veteran Indians, and players who had taken a year or so off from football. The result was a well coached team that reeled off a three quarter victory against a bewildered Tellico team that was never in the game. The Indians combined for 25 carries for 243 yards, six touchdowns, and four 2-pt. conversions.
