REDSKINS vs. ANDERSON COUNTYGAME SUMMARY, STATS, AND PHOTOSLoudon 14 Anderson County 23 Photos at bottom of page. TOUGH BATTLE AT DUKES FIELDBy Jeff McQueen, the "Voice of the Hill" The young Loudon Redskin team was eager to avenge the 41 to 12 Anderson Co. win last year in the rain. Both teams started with solid defense as the 1st quarter went scoreless. In the 2nd period, the Mavericks scored on a 1-yd plunge by #7 Sean Mounts. With the extra point, Anderson Co. is up 7-0. The Redskins answered with a long drive capped off with a 1 yd dive by #1 Patric Johnson, #9 Adam Paramo added the extra point. Both teams stood at 7 points each at the half. The 3rd stanza was marked by a missed Maverick field goal, but they later broke a 60 yd draw play for a touchdown by #22 Jason Sanders. Early in the 4th quarter, Loudon was behind 14-7, when the #2 Chad Oody, recovered a fumble and streaked 55 yds to pay dirt! With #9 Adam Paramo’s kick the score was tied 14-14. Not to be outdone, Anderson Co. drove the ball down field and scored with a 29-yd touchdown pass. After a punt by both teams, the Redskins were pinned deep in their own territory. Quarterback #2 Chad Oody was sacked in the end zone for a safety. After that, all the Mavericks had to do was take a knee and run out the clock. The final score was 23 to 14 in favor of the Anderson Co. Mavericks. Next Friday is Homecoming, as the Redskins host Sequoyah. SCORING SUMMARY
