Soggy Field No Problem for the 'Cats(27 Sept. 2002) By Jeff McQueen, the "Voice of the Hill" Loudon and Sweetwater have played each other 10 times in the last 12 years, dating back to 1990. Sweetwater won the first 5 games; Loudon won the last 5, with a 2 year break in the middle. The Wildcats traveled to Loudon, with a 4-0 record to tangle with the 2-2 Redskins. The first half was a defensive struggle, as neither team could muster a score. The 'Cats missed a 34-yard field goal (wide right) in the first period. Sweetwater finally took advantage of field position early in the third quarter and tossed a halfback pass for an 8 yd. touchdown. The extra point was good. Two big plays in the fourth stanza put the game out of reach. Jeremiah Parris (5) hauled in a 50 yd. scoring pass from quarterback Jedi Phillips. The two-point conversion failed. A big run by Dustin Latham (21) of 56 yds., coupled with an extra point kick by Josh Stovall (86) capped off the scoring. The soggy field posed no problem for the Wildcats as they amassed 309 yds of total offense, broke the 5-5 tie, and ran their record to 5-0 with the 19-0 victory. The Redskins will host powerhouse Fulton next Friday. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. at Dukes Field. StatsLoudon:1st Downs: 6
