Much like a scrimmage game, the coaches played a lot of players trying to get one last look at various schemes. #33 Jake Brantley scooped and scored on a 53 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. Patric Johnson #1, added a 40 yard score. McMinn Central broke two big rushing plays, one for 44 yards and the other for a 30 yard TD. It was good to have #62 Marty Brannum back from injuries, he punted once for 41 yards. Brannum’s ability to pin opponents deep in their own territory will be a welcome weapon. The “Big Red Wall” logged 6 plays, sacks or tackles behind the line of scrimmage, for -12 yards.
Loudon Redskins:
6 carries for 51 yards rushing and (1) TD
2 of 3 for 30 yards passing
3 first downs
3 penalties for -25 yards
1 fumble
1 punt for 41 yards
McMinn Central Chargers:
14 carries for 91 yards rushing
0 of 2 for 0 yards passing
4 first downs
1 fumble
1 punt
Due to lightning, the 40 yard dash & the punt, pass, and kick competitions were cancelled.
The Redskins open their season Friday, August 29th against Walker Valley at Dukes field.
