Meet the Kicker - Yoni Espinoza

The loudonfootball.com spotlight is on Junior place kicker Yoni Espinoza; who kicks off and also kicks field goals and extra points. Yoni was recruited by Coach Brown. I think the story went something this...Hey, Yoni wanna play some football? But, Mr. Coach Brown... I do play football, I've been on the team for three years now. "No no, I forgot soccer is also called football", quipped Coach Brown. How would you like to play football for the LHS varsity team? You won't have to practice or hit anybody or anything, just kick. And so the redskins have their third place kicker recruited off of the LHS soccer team. Espinoza has attended LHS his entire high school career. The Redskins are counting on #15 Yoni Espinoza for the rest of this season and next year as well.

In seven games Yoni has performed very well:
• WV - 3 out of 4 PAT's (missed wide left)
• AC - 2 out of 2 PAT's
• SEQ - Redskins shut out
• A-E - 1 out of 1 PAT's and 2 out of 2 Field Goals
• SHS - 3 out of 5 PAT's (2 were blocked)
• FHS - 1 out of 1 PAT
• Scott - 3 out of 4 PAT's for 19 points on the season
