The staff at loudonfootball.com wishes to express its deepest condolences to the family of Tom Nichols over his death on March 30, 2004. Tom, survived by his wife Kaye, was a well-known and much-loved member of the Loudon community and will be missed by many.
Tom was a 1953 graduate of Loudon High School and played for the Redskins for four years. He leaves a legacy of football through his children Jeff and Quinn.
- Jeff, the current Loudon Quarterback Club president, played for the '74 and '75 Redskin championship teams. He has two sons who are also carrying on the Nichols football tradition: Jacob, who is a current Loudon Redskin; and Jeffrey, who plays for the LQC Indians.
- Tom's daughter Quinn Black, a '74 Loudon graduate, is married to three-year Redskin letterman Joe Black. Joe played for the Redskins in '68, '69, and '70. They have a daughter, Whitney, and a son, Nick, who won a state championship at Maryville and went on to play for Clemson University.
